Center for Intellectual Property and Competition Law (CIPCO)

A Challenge for Competition Policy (21.04.2021)

How do algorithms interact on markets and what impact does the emergence of algorithmic market activity have on the fundamental structures of a market? Does it change the interplay of supply and demand? Is there a tendency towards concentration or, conversely, fragmentation? Do we need a new competition law framework for dealing with algorithmic market activity?

These and further aspects were discussed by our international panel of experts at our first event on the topic of pricing algorithms.
